Amanda Carlson Phillips joined the YSPN360 team of Youth Sports contributors and advisors at the beginning of 2017. In her role at, Amanda provides age-appropriate nutritional guidance and programs for young players, parents and coaches via the web site. At the same time, Amanda continues in her primary role as VP Performance Nutrition and Research at EXOS, formerly Athletes Performance, Inc. Carlson-Phillips is committed to helping EXOS athletes achieve their maximum performance potential through the integration of effective nutrition into their lives. At the same time, she speaks to younger athletes and their families about the important foundation provided by good sports nutrition.

Amanda is a registered dietitian who earned her bachelor's degree in nutritional sciences, with a minor in chemistry, from the University of Arizona. She continued her education by earning master's degrees in sports nutrition and exercise physiology from Florida State University.

She's delivered both educational seminars and individual consulting to a variety of professional and elite sports organizations. Carlson-Phillips speaks about the importance of improving nutrition for both sports performance and overall health to a variety of populations at coaching seminars, military educational conferences, college symposiums, and state and national meetings.

Amanda is also a contributor to many sports and fitness based publications, has edited various sports nutrition books and educational texts, evaluates current research for the American Dietetic Association's Evidence Analysis Library, and is an advisory board member of the International Society of Sports Nutrition. She coordinates major performance research activities, undertaking both case studies and peer-reviewed research on the on the cutting-edge of sports science
