GM of Soccer at YSPN360, Head Coach Saddleback College Women's Soccer
B.J. McNicol is the General Manager of Soccer for YSPN360, and the current head coach for the Saddleback College women's soccer team—a position he has held since 2012. During his time with the Gauchos, the team has gone 67-34-26 and reached the playoffs five years straight. McNicol earned his first Orange Empire Conference Coach of Year honors in 2015, leading that year's squad to a second-place finish with a record of 16-4-2.
Coach McNicol graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), where he played on the men's soccer team while studying kinesiology. He earned team captain honors his senior season with the Runnin' Rebels, and from there continued to excel on the field, getting the opportunity to play soccer at the professional level. He spent five years in professional soccer, playing for the Utah Blitzz and the New Hampshire Phantoms of the USL, before taking his on-field experiences and using them to help the next generation of soccer players.
And he has only progressed more as a coach and all-around soccer mind—the Bountiful, Utah native even earned master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University.
Since 2005, Coach McNicol has been heavily involved with youth soccer in the Southern California area. He is the Director of Coaching for a youth league in Mission Viejo and also devotes time to the Rosary High School soccer team in Fullerton. Continuing to earn credentials that only further highlight his brilliant expertise, Coach McNicol holds licenses through both the USYSA and NSCAA: specialty diplomas in Futsal and Maximizing Player Performance Using Technology and Science.
He currently resides in Riverside, California, with his wife, Kelly
