- The right knee (or foot) cannot cross the rubber during a pickoff attempt and be considered a legal move.
- Draw a line in the dirt, from the end of the rubber toward first base, to set parameters for the right knee (or foot) when working on a legal pickoff move to first base.
- The pitcher’s right leg cannot cross the 45-degree angle during a legal pickoff move, either. To develop a feel for that, a second line should be drawn at a 45-degree angle.
