Be in a nice, balanced, athletic position. Keep those feet at shoulders’ width, and lead slightly with your glove-side foot.
Get your glove — your shovel — out front to form the point of a “triangle” with your feet.
Don’t be stiff! A little flexion in your glove-side elbow and wrist is ideal.
Get your bare (throwing) hand over your glove as a safeguard, but be sure your fingers are angled upward! Downward fingers can be easily dinged up by bad hops.
