Coach K has a good point there, one that is often easily overlooked. And this doesn’t evade the youth sports level, either. Whether it’s overemphasizing achievement over enjoyment and learning, or the new epidemic of overworking, youth sports is almost seemingly in line with the pressures normally reserved for Game 7s.
Why is that? Well, the reasons can be exhausting.
But YSPN360 wants to move beyond that roadblock, ignoring generalized excuses, and instead take the time to focus on what makes youth sports so enjoyable. From the youth athletes to the parents and coaches, we want to create a positive impact for all involved: To have fun! To understand Timely Development and Effort-Based Results as much as Adult Behavior Modeling, and, most importantly, to enjoy the “JOURNEY!”
And that’s what this blog page will hopefully help achieve. Through the communication ease of blogging, we want to use this platform to share not only our stories—including ones from the coaches, athletes, and mentors at YSPN360!—but to also hear your stories, your concerns or questions, your feedback…after all, you’re the real heroes of this community, and we value the discussion!
