March 19, 2016 – Studio City, CA; YSPN360.com is excited to add Performance Dietician Amanda Carlson M.S., RD to its team of Youth Sports contributors and advisors. In her role at YSPN360.com, Amanda will provide age-appropriate nutritional guidance and programs for young players, parents and
coaches via the YSPN360.com web site. She will also continue as VP Performance Nutrition and
Research at EXOS, formerly Athletes Performance, Inc.
“Performance starts with the right foods. This is even more important for young athletes than adults because their physical growth also consumes energy,” remarked Ms. Carlson. “Parents should learn as much as possible about proteins, calories, the pros and cons of supplements, as well as timely snacks and hydration. My goal is to make it easy to learn what they need to know for children to enjoy the best athletic experience.”
“Having Amanda on the YSPN360.com team will fit right in with our goals for younger athletes. Good nutrition connects directly to more fun for the kids, and parents and coaches will know more about how to keep them energized and healthy,” Said Lou Birdt, President of YSPN360.com.
Amanda Carlson earned her bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science from the University of Arizona and completed her Master’s degree in both Sports Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from Florida State University. She delivers educational seminars and individual consulting to numerous sports organizations as well as state and national conferences. Amanda has written for many sports and fitness publications, and evaluates research for the American Dietetic Association’s Evidence Based Library.
