February 7, 2017 – Studio City, CA; Arizona Diamondbacks Strength Coach Nate Shaw will be bringing his strength and fitness experience to the YSPN360.com sports coaching and education team. Shaw will continue as Strength Coach for the Diamondbacks while offering free on-line fitness and strength advice and videos to young aspiring players. Shaw joins LA Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts, Oakland A’s pitching Coach Curt Young, and many other professional and collegiate coaches at YSPN360.
Shaw is entering his 11th season as the strength and Conditioning Coach for the Arizona
Diamondbacks. Prior to that, he worked for 4 years with The Toronto Blue Jays and The Tampa Bay Rays. He learned his craft as a physical therapy technician before enrolling in the University of Florida’s Athletic Training Program. He gained valuable experience not only as a student trainer for the University’s Football team but also as a trainer at the Student Health Center and their Intramural Sports programs.
“Durability is actually more important than ability,” Nate remarked. “Creating a program that focuses on health and performance can be a bit challenging, especially at the youth level, but I believe that being healthy is more important than any other skill that an athlete might have. Kids have a lot more fun if they’re in good shape, and feel rewarded for a little hard work.” YSPN360 CEO Lou Birdt made the announcement. ““There are more than 2 million volunteer coaches and nearly 40 million athletes in team sports at the youth level in this country. Nate adds an important dimension to our Full Circle 360 approach to youth sports,” Birdt said. “YSPN360.com is about educating and inspiring the next generation of athletes, their parents and coaches. The best way is to learn from the best.”
