January 6, 2016 – Studio City, CA; YSPN360 is excited to announce that former professional baseball pitcher and youth coach Mike Schultz has joined the YSPN360.com coaching and sports education team. By joining Oakland A’s pitching coach Curt Young, Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts, and other coaches on the YSPN360 web site, Mike will provide a valuable focus on basic playing techniques for younger kids just starting out. His unique approach will also include ideas to help newer coaches and parents bring out the best in their aspiring young athletes.

This will be a great place for learning the game, no matter what sport you choose,” Schultz remarked. “I’m looking forward to providing help and assistance for the less experienced first time coaches, parents and younger baseball players. Mike played college baseball at Loyola Marymount University in Southern California and came up through the Arizona Diamondbacks organization as a 2nd round draft choice in 2000. He made his major league pitching debut in September 2007, and also played 5 seasons for Hiroshima Toyo Carp in the Japan Central League. Mike is currently the head baseball coach at a Los Angeles area high school, continuing his love of developing the skills of young players.

About Mike Schultz
Mike Schultz is the head baseball coach at Milken Community High School in Los Angeles, CA. He was originally selected in the 6th round of the MLB baseball draft after finishing high school in 1997. Instead he attended Loyola Marymount University where he was a pitcher for the college team. He was drafted again in 2000, this time in the 2nd round by the Arizona Diamondbacks and spent 7 years in the Diamondbacks’ system. He made his only major league appearance in September of 2007 where he pitched one innin, struck out one batter, and still maintains a perfect 0.00 ERA. In 2007, Schultz signed with the Hiroshima Toyo Carp and played 5 seasons in Japan before concluding his professional career to begin coaching and working with young players.
